Manila International Airport Authority donates unclaimed lost items to orphans, elderly

MANILA International Airport Authority (MIAA) general manager Ed Monreal yesterday said  the lost and found and intelligence and investigation division (IID) of the MIAA has donated to the orphanages some items that remained unclaimed after a year at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminals.

Monreal issued a memorandum to assistant general manager Arnulfo Junio, ordering him to donate the items to the sector that most needed the items, particularly the children and elderly.

The MIAA donated 16 pieces of baby strollers to Santa Rita Orphanage located at the Dr. A. Santos Avenue, Sucat, Parañaque City and another 16 strollers to the Home for the Angels child caring foundation in San Andres Bukid, Manila.

Meanwhile, 98 pieces of walking canes were also donated to  Samahan ng mga Senior Citizens located in Barangay 201, Pasay City.

Lost and found deposited to the national treasury a total of P874,000 in  different currencies. This is the money the passengers left at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminals that were unclaimed for over two years.
