MISS Universe 2018 Catriona Gray made a courtesy call on members of the House of Representatives who presented her with a resolution congratulating her for winning the pageant and giving pride to the Filipinos.

Gray, whose mother is from Bicol and father from Australia, met leaders of the House led by Deputy Speaker Mercedes Alvarez.

Resolution 178, authored by Speaker Gloria MAcapagal-Arroyo, was presented to Gray.

In her short speech, Gray expressed gratitude for the warm welcome given to her and she vowed to open her communication line with the leaders of the government.

“Thank you very much. It is very wonderful to see the leaders of the country. I am very much open to conversation with them. I am willing to learn from you and be updated on what is happening in the country,” she said.

Gray was supposed to meet Speaker Arroyo but the House leader was in Malacanang for a meeting.

Alvarez told Gray the members of the House are one with her in her advocacies.

“The House of Representatives is with her in promoting and advancing the welfare of the children especially those living in disadvantaged and impoverished communities,” Alvarez said.
