National Capital Region Police Office recruits sworn in

January 12, 2019

NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office chief Director Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar recently led the mass oathtaking of 366 new NCRPO recruits who will be undergoing a 1-year rigid training before being assigned to different police stations and units in Metro Manila.

The 366 include 281 males and 85 females who passed rigid screening by the NCRPO recruitment board. All took their oath of office on Thursday during simple rites at the NCRPO headquarters in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City.

Eleazar called on the recruits to bear in mind and take to heart their sworn duty to serve the public with “honor, justice and integrity” as they begin their basic training to become part of the 195,000-strong police force which is embarking on a program to be more capable, credible and efficient.

He likewise expressed confidence that the 366 recruits have already learned from the cases of some bad eggs in the police organization who were either killed or arrested in police operations as part of their internal cleansing program.

According to the deputy director of the PNP Directorate for Personnel and Records Management, Chief Superintendent Allan M. Cuevillas, the recruits who have the temporary rank of Police Officer 1 will only acquire permanent status after they complete the year-long training.

The recruits will undergo the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course training for six months at the NCRPO Regional Training Center before going to another 6-month Field Training Program where they will be exposed to police science, combat and tactics, operations and traffic procedures among others.
