No death threat — Sara

PAGADIAN, Zamboanga del Sur – Hugpong ng Pagbabago founder and chairman Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has not received any death threat.

In an interview after the campaign sortie here, Mayor Duterte made clear her absence from the campaign rally in Tangub City Misamis Occidental last Wednesday had nothing to do with an alleged death threat against her.

According to the presidential daughter, she was advised by the Presidential Security Group (PSG) not to proceed to Tangub City because of a security issue which was not elaborated to her.

“Nag-inform ang PSG that morning na hindi daw kami pwedeng dumiretso sa Tangub so we just opted with our staff to stay in Molave,” Mayor Duterte said when asked by the Media.

However she was also quick to deny rumors that her life is in danger in Tangub City, since the neighboring city is Ozamis where the Parojinogs reside. Members of the Parojinog clan, allegedly taggdas drug lords, were liquidated in Duterte’s drug war.

Responding in Visaya on the question of death threat, Mayor Duterte said “wala uy,” and further explained that she has been in Tangub City in several occasions.

“I’ve been in Tangub, nag pirmahan kami before ng alliance ni Mayor Tan. But kahapon hindi kami pinayagan ng PSG,” she said.

“It’s more on security, but they didn’t explain to me why, Sinabi na lang nila na order came from the highest officer sa PSG,” she added.

Meanwhile, she apologized to the local officials, supporters and even HNP senatorial bets in Tangub City for her absence saying it’s beyond her control.

Mayor Duterte was supposed to make a pitch for administration candidates. From Sindang, Zamboanga del Norte, she and her camp rode a motorcycle going to Tangub. However, upon reaching Molave, they were stopped by the PSG.

In Pagadian, Mayor Duterte made two appearances before different crowds and urged voters to choose 12 out of the 13 candidates of the HNP.
