SENATOR Koko Pimentel yesterday said that the members of his party, the Partido ng Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), who were named in the government’s narco-list now face the possibility of being kicked out from their organization.
Pimentel, PDP-Laban president, said that they will issue a letter to their 10 members who were included in the narco-list asking them for their explanation.
The senator said that if these members were not able to give a valid defense, they can be removed from their party, which is also the political party of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Wala silang lugar sa partido,” he added.
Based on the list, around eight to 10 PDP-Laban members who are running for local positions in their areas are tagged as narco-politicians.
Despite this, Pimentel believes that being included in the narco-list is the best opportunity for those named to clear their names if they are truly not involved in illegal drugs.
Addressing the public, he said that the people should closely examine the personalities tagged and their counter-rebuttal before making a decision in the coming elections.
