A PARTY-LST solon tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The House of Representatives has not yet released an official statement on the lawmaker however a viber message circulated informing House members and employees about the case.
The first test was positive and when the solon was re-tested the same result came out.
The sample will be brought to Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) for final testing and official confirmation, the message said.
The lawmaker had attended several committee hearings from March 2 to 11 in the House of Representatives.
It will take days before the confirmation from RITM is released.
“While the congressman feels better, we prefer that we err on the side of caution. Let’s assume that he has been confirmed to be positive of COVID-19,” the message said.
Meanwhile, one of his staff has also fallen ill and was already brought to a health facility.
