THE Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) headed by Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo yesterday announced it has procured a decontamination tent and a knapsack disinfectant misting sprayer which will be used by their men returning to their Camp Crame headquarters after conducting anti-kidnapping operations.
“All our officers and men as well as civilian personnel and guests will have to pass thru the decontamination tent for the mandatory demisting procedure as part of our effort to help prevent the spread of COVID-19,” said Estomo.
All personnel and guests entering the PNP-AKG headquarters are also required to wear face masks and apply alcohol in their hands before being allowed entry into the AKG compound.
Estomo said that the process is part of their bio-safety plan to prevent the spread of the highly-contagious virus as ordered by PNP chief, General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa.
He explained it was necessary since PNP-AKG agents continue their effort to track down wanted kidnappers and rescue kidnapping victims including Chinese nationals who have been victimized by casino loan shark syndicates and abusive POGO companies despite the enhanced community quarantine ordered by President Duterte two weeks ago.
