ALL police preparations are in place to ensure the safe holding of the second  round of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) plebiscite in six Lanao del Sur municipalities and 39 barangays in North Cotabato tomorrow, Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar Albayalde said yesterday.

“Following the successfully-concluded BOL plebiscite in Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi and in the cities of Cotabato and Basilan, the PNP is now ready to assume election duties anew for the second BOL plebiscite in the municipalities of Baloi, Munai, Nunungan, Pantar, Tagoloan and Tangkal in Lanao del Norte; and in 39 barangays in the municipalities of Aleosan, Carmen, Kabacan, Midsayap, Pigkawayan and Pikit in North Cotabato on February 6, 2019,” the country’s top said.

The PNP chief said there will be a ceremonial send-off in Cagayan de Oro City today of police security forces that will perform election duty in the second  BOL plebiscite. He said that the PNP is fielding a smaller contingent of 3,029 policemen in 588 polling centers.

Using the similar operational template applied in the first BOL plebiscite last January 21, Albayalde said that the troops will be supervised by officials manning the Plebiscite Monitoring Action Center at the Police Regional Office 12 headquarters in General Santos City.

PRO12 director Chief Supt. Eliseo Rasco yesterday deployed his personnel to safeguard tomorrow’s BOL plebiscite. He said that 582 personnel from the PRO12 will be around to keep peace and order in concerned areas. Another 100 Board of Election Inspectors from the PRO12 will also be on duty.
