THE Philippine National Police (PNP), who recently warned to arrest hoarders and those who are spreading fake news, formed a task force that will deal with these violators and other related crimes during the enhanced community quarantine in the entire Luzon.
PNP deputy chief for Operations Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said that the launch of the “PNP Task Force Kontra Peke” together with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), is tasked to apprehend people or groups behind hoarding and overpricing of basic goods during the duration of the quarantine.
During the Presidential Communication’s Laging Handa Public Briefing, Eleazar said that they would go after those fake news purveyors and those who are hoarding and selling overpriced basic goods.
Basic goods in the market are in high demand since the increase of COVID-19 cases in the country emerged.
The PNP had recently done entrapment operations, arresting 24 hoarders and overpricing sellers in different places around the country.
The PNP will continue its operations for those who are taking for granted the situation and condition of the country.
