PNP ready to respond to looting, other crimes

THE Philippine National Police (PNP) is ready to respond to looting incidents during the month-long enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

This was the assurance given by PNP Deputy Chief for Operations Police Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar.

Eleazar said that the PNP is prepared for any possible scenario during the quarantine, including cases of looting due to hunger.

He added that the national government and the local government units are well aware of and ready to respond to outbreaks of crime

However, he noted that incidence of crime has gone down since the implementation of the Luzon-wide quarantine.

Eleazar also said that the reports on social media of robbery incidents are false, and they are now tracing those who spread the misinformation.
