THE Philippine National Police has recorded its 16th COVID-19 fatality as it registered 230 new cases since the week started, the Journal Group learned yesterday.
The 16th fatality was a 52-year old Police Non-Commissioned Officer assigned with the National Police Training Institute-National Training Center. The cop passed away last August 17, according to the PNP Health Service.
As of yesterday, the PNP-HS said there were a total of 3,506 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the PNP with 691 other policemen described as Probable Persons Under Investigation and 2,689 others as Suspected PUIs.
Since last March, a total of 2,521 police personnel who contracted the disease have already recovered.
