Malacañang hailed yesterday the results of a survey showing majority of Filipinos believe that the country is moving in the “right direction.”

Results of the September 15 to 23 poll conducted by independent pollster Social Weather Stations showed that 75 percent of adult Filipinos are convinced that the country is on the right track.

This is five points higher compared to the 70 percent who believed so in June.

On the other hand, 22 percent said the country was in the wrong direction. The remaining three percent did not give an answer.

President Rodrigo Duterte received a  +72 “excellent” net satisfaction rating among those who say that the country is in the right direction while his administration scored a +66 “very good” net satisfaction rating.

“We view this as a reflection of our people’s continued trust and confidence in the President and an affirmation that the policies and programs of the current administration are on the right track,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement.

Panelo said the President has emphasized in numerous occasions that the mandate of government workers is to serve the people.

“Our objective as public servants is thus being able to perform our respective duties well. Therefore, we treat the results of this recent survey not as an accolade but as an inspiration for our men and women in the government as they persist in carrying on with their roles in the service,” Panelo said.

The Palace official hoped that the “strong public appreciation” for the country’s situation “would further engage our people in supporting this administration in building a nation where all Filipinos can experience comfortable and decent lives under a trustworthy government.”

“Together, let us work hand in hand to realize the President’s vision for the Philippines,” Panelo said.
