MORE people are calling on the Supreme Court, (SC) which is also the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), to issue a decision regarding the fraud case filed by former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. against Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo.

Dr. Celerino “Chie” Umandap, chairman of  Advocates and Keepers of OFWs (AKO-OFW), said PET’s resolution of the Marcos case which questoned Robredo’s victiory as vice presdent in the 2016 election will show respect for the Filipino people.

The Constitution gave the high court as PET the job of deciding electoral  protests concerning the positions of president and vice president but more than four years after the election, the people are still awaiting the verdict of the tribunal.

Umandap said: “The PET decision is long overdue. Once and for all the people deserve the real result of the election and to find out who the real VP (vice president).

In just a few months, the filing of certificate of candidacy (COC) for the 2022 election will start, but PET has yet to finally resolve the electoral protest of Marcos.

The media has found out that Associate Justice Marvic Leonen is the “key” to issuing PET’s final decision and answering the question of who is the country’s true Vice President.

Former President Benigno Aquino III had appointed Leonen to the Supreme Court after the alleged “successful” initial talks between the Aquino administration and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) which because of many constitutional issues resulted in a failed agreement.
