PHILIPPINE Constitution Association (Philconsa) President Martin Romualdez yesterday congratulated and commended the Jesus is Lord Church Worldwide (JIL), under the leadership of Bro. Eddie C. Villanueva, which celebrated its 40th Anniversary last Saturday.
Romualdez, a lawyer and president of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD), credited Villanueva and JIL for their continuing social and humanitarian programs that benefit not only its members, but the country as a whole.
He and his wife, Leyte Rep. Yedda Marie Kittilstvedt Romualdez extolled JIL Church Worldwide headed by Villanueva, the JIL President and Spiritual Director, for spreading the word of God.
“The Philippines is so blessed to have you (Bro. Eddie). You are a great source of spiritual inspiration and encouragement especially to the people around you. We commend your leadership for undying quest for excellence and been a strong and influential moral guide to many in serving God and the country,” Romualdez, a former House Independent Bloc Leader of the last 16th Congress.
“Your (Bro. Edie) hard work and perseverance are there to accomplish your goals in the name of God’s grace, wisdom and blessings. My entire family is extending our warmest greetings to the 40th Anniversary of Jesus is Lord Church which always champions God’s goodness and faithfulness. We wish all the good things for the Church and may God continue to bless you and your church family in serving Him,” added Yedda Romualdez, the chairperson of the House Committee on Accounts and first nominee of Tingog Sinirangan Party List group.
Sen. Sonny Angara, who attended the JIL’s anniversary held at the Luneta Grandstand with Sen. Joel Villanueva, relayed his admiration and felicitations to the JIL, which celebrated 40 years of “God’s constant faithfulness, healings, miracles, and abundant mercies”
“Salamat sa apatnapung taon na naging patnubay at takbuhan ang Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide ng milyun-milyong Pilipino – sa loob at labas ng bansa,” said Angara, recalling that the JIL Church is an international Christian movement founded in 1978, beginning with a school outreach ministry with 15 students.
In his speech, Villanueva called on the JIL people to remain faithful to God and be a blessing to others.
“We remind the JIL People of our strong faith in God and how blessed is each one of us and the JIL ministry as a whole. Our faith is powerful because it activates God’s power and mercy—this is the reason why we are so blessed,” said Villanueva, chairman of Kristiyanong Kabataan para sa Bayan (KKB) Movement. “Let’s not just stay in the four corners of the Church but transform our nation to become a blessed nation of the Lord.”
To date, the JIL Church has established churches in more than 60 countries in six continents around the world.
Through its I Care Ministry, the JIL Church provides crucial aid to families and individuals affected by natural and man-made calamities.
