San Pascual mayor: Travel abroad legit

March 11, 2019

SAN Pascual, Batangas Mayor Roanna Conti described as “amusing” and “baffling” the cases for grave misconduct and ignorance of the law filed against her by Vice Mayor Antonio Dimayuga merely because he wasn’t aware that the mayor took a rest abroad.

“I deny the allegations and find all the charges made by Mr. Antonio Dimayuga both amusing and baffling,” stressed Mayor Conti.

Mayor Conti laughed off the case filed against her by Vice Mayor Dimayugo because the governor was aware and even gave his consent when she asked permission to go abroad last Christmas and New Year.

“Perhaps it is only Mr. Dimayuga who is unaware of my authority to travel and leave, as approved by Governor Hermilando I. Mandanas,” stressed Mayor Conti.

Conti added that the charges filed against her were baseless.

“This case is totally baseless accusation, which will only waste the time and energy of our good prosecutors in the Ombudsman’s office,” added Conti.

“Nevertheless, we are not backing down on this baseless charge and we will face it head on as I know that my name will be cleared of Mr. Dimayuga’s accusations. San Pascual should not be dragged into this case as I have always adhered to an honorable kind of leadership. I will file a perjury case against him on this since nothing is further from truth,” concluded Mayor Conti.

Conti was slapped with charges for going to the United States together with her husband Nick and children from December 20, 2018  until January 5, 2019.
