CEBU City -- Despite having colds and cough, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte continues to lead the Hugpong ng Pagbabago 13 senatorial candidates on the campaign trail.
Speaking in Bisaya, Mayor Duterte attended at least four campaign rallies in Mandaue, Cebu City, Liloan and Danao in the two-day schedule that started Thursday.
In between her speeches, the HNP founder and chairman covers her face with a handkerchief to cough and often drink water.
In Bisaya, she joked that she might get attacked by witchcraft (barang), eliciting laughter from the crowd.
But her condition did not stop her from campaigning to finish the campaign trail in Cebu.
Before the Cebu leg, the HNP team held rallies in Samar, Leyte and Bohol.
Hugpong Ng Pagbabago first made a stop in Mandaue City where she and her team were hosted by Mayor Luigi Quisumbing.
The party’s second stop was in Cebu City with local candidates led by Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella who is challenging incumbent Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña.
Yesterday, Mayor Duterte’s Team proceeded to the Northern towns of Liloan and Danao.
The entire Cebu province has at least 6 million voters.
In Mandaue, Mayor Quisumbing asked Mandaue City residents to vote for HNP candidates.
He even introduced Mayor Duterte as the next president of the Philippines.
