WITH only few days left before the mid-term elections, Hugpong ng Pagbabago founder and chairperson Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte instructed the HNP candidates to campaign again in areas where they have small chances of winning.
Next week the HNP will campaign in Camiguin, their last stop in Mindanao.
The grand rally will be held in Davao City, the hometown of Mayor Sara and President Rodrigo Duterte.
In an interview, Mayor Sara admitted that it is hard to get 12-0 even in Mindanao since there are other candidates who are doing good in the survey.
“It is impossible to get 12-0, kasi marami ding ibang kandidato na sikat din sa tao,” she said.
However, the presidential daughter expects her candidates to get the majority Senate seats. In the last survey of Pulse Asia, at least nine of HNP’s 13 candidates made it to the Top 12.
In the last week of the campaign the candidates will separately court the votes of the people.
“Yung mga Senators sinabihan ko sila na balikan ang mga area kung saan sila mahina, mag-campaign ulit doon, kung pwede person to person campaign ang gawin nila,” she said.
The campaign in Bataan and Pampanga was cancelled due to the magnitude 6.1 earthquake in Luzon.
“We will see each other again on May 9, sa Davao City for the final rally na,” the HNP campaign manager said.
The HNP candidates are former MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino; reelectionists Sonny Angara, JV Ejercito, Cynthia Villar and Koko Pimentel; Maguindanao Rep. Dong Mangudadatu; Taguig City Rep. Pia Cayetano; Ilocos Gov. Imee Marcos; former journalist Jiggy Manicad and former Sens. Bong Revilla Jr. and Jinggoy Estrada.
