Solon denounces 'black propaganda'

CHAIRMAN of the powerful House committee on appropriations Rep. Eric Go Yap deplored the circulation of "fake” statements attributed to him in social media.

In a statement, Yap denied saying frontliners allowed themselves to be used to destroy the administration.

The representative of ACT-CIS branded the bogus news black propaganda and appealed to the public not to be swayed by such political agenda in this time of pandemic .

Earlier there are pictures of Yap circulating in the some social media platforms to which he said “Mga Frontliner, nagpapagamit para pabagsakin ang gobyerno."

“I never said that. I strongly deny this statement came from me.

The neophyte solon said he is one of the House members pushing for more benefits for the frontliners, particularly those in the health sector.

The solon reminded those behind this propaganda that the next elections is still far and irrelevant at this point as the administration is preoccupied with programs to help Filipinos recover from the pandemic.

"My previous statement was made in the context of some people taking advantage of COVID issues for their own political interest. That is crystal clear. Nowhere in that statement that I said anything about our medical frontliner willingly allowing themselves to be used for others political agenda,” Yap said.

He assured the frontliners that he will continue to acknowledge their efforts and sacrifices.
