A PARTY-LIST lawmaker is undergoing self-quarantine in the Philippines due to serious health threat of the 2019 novel coronavirus after he attended attending a series of consultative meetings in Hong Kong.
House Secretary General . Jose Luis Montales said Manila Rep. Manny Lopez, chairman of House Committee on Metro Manila Development informed him that Citizens Battle Against Corruption (Cibac) Party-list Rep. Domingo Rivera was quarantined in Hong Kong.
“Cong. Rivera has practiced self-quarantine in the Philippines after he went to Hong Kong for a series of meetings there,” Montales said.
Earlier, House Majority Leader and Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez welcomed the House of Representatives’ protective measures against the spread of 2019n-CoV signed by Montales.
The memorandum urged House members and employees to practice self-quarantine for 14 days should they travel in countries with confirmed cases of the 2019n-CoV and returned to the Philippines on January 20 onwards.
Aside from protective mask and temperature, the memorandum urged lawmakers, officials, employees and visitors to avoid crowded places, practice personal hygiene and avoid interaction with sick people.
