SENATOR Cynthia Villar is still the richest senator while opposition Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes remains the poorest based on their submitted Statement of Assets Liabilities and Networth (SALN) for 2018.
SALN documents reveal that Villar has a total networth of P3.719 billion this 2018, P108 million higher that her networth of P3.611 billion last 2017.
Senator Manny Pacquiao is at second with a networth of P3.005 billion higher than his P2.946 billion declaration last 2017. The fighting senator also has the biggest liabilities with P146.005 million.
At the top five are Senate Pro Tempore Ralph Recto with P555.342 million networth at third, fourth is Senate Majority Leader Migz Zubiri with P182.851 million and at five is Senator Sonny Angara with P136.840 million networth.
Rounding up the sixth to 12th places are Senator JV Ejercito (P132.840 million), Senate Minority Leader Frank Drilon (P97.726 million), Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian (96.210 million), Sen. Grace Poe (P93.039 million), Sen. Richard Gordon (P71.285 million), Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III (P70.120 million), and Senator Nancy Binay (P60.132 million).
From 13th to 23rd are Sen. Loren Legarda (P56.290 million), Sen. Bam Aquino (P45.250 million), Sen,. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson (P42.442 million), Sen. Koko Pimentel (P28.662 million), Sen. Joel Villanueva (P26.921 million), Sen. Gringo Honasan (P25.882 million), Sen. Kiko Pangilinan (P16.695 million), Sen. Risa Hontiveros (P15.627 million), Sen. Chiz Escudero (P10.57 million), Sen. Leila de Lima (P7.706 million), and at the bottom is Sen. Trillanes (P7.553 million).
Of the 23 senators, Ejercito has the biggest increase in networth with P53.867 million more to his SALN.
Ejercito explained that this was after he received around P50 million worth of donation for three years and the documentation was finished only in 2018.
“All of these are documented, was given a deed of donation of an asset worth P50 million 3 years ago but documentation was only compleyete and reflected in 2019,” Ejercito explained.
