DIFFERENT urban poor leaders joined forces to strongly signify their support to the candidacy of former Secretary Bong Go this coming mid-term elections.
It is stated in the resolution crafted and released by the members of the National Capital Region Urban Poor Council of Leaders (NCR-UPCL) last Friday that its members are willing to exert efforts just to ensure a seat for Go, as they believe that he will serve as their voice in the Senate.
The federation headed by Latoreno is composed of some 16 cities and one municipality in Metro Manila where every city has its respective leaders with at least 50,000 different urban poor constituents.
According to Mr. Latoreno, their federation was only created last November 2018 which aimed to strengthen and harmonize every urban poor organization in Metro Manila and to have a strong representative that can stand with all of the issues surrounding urban poor when it comes to policy-making, projects, and advocacies.
Meanwhile, programs about health, housing, and livelihood are the priority programs of Bong Go to address the needs of different urban poor communities which was commended by Latoreno and other members of NCR-UPCL.
Bong Go also made it to the “Magic 12” according to the recent survey released by Pulse Asia and SWS despite being a first-timer to seek for a senate seat.
