THE Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has turned over to acquitted Filipina murder suspect Jennifer Dalquez the P100,000 financial assistance to help her start anew in the Philippines.
The amount was handed over to Dalquez by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Strategic Communications and Research Ernesto C. Abella on Wednesday.
Dalquez again expressed her gratitude for all the assistance extended to her by the government.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa lahat ng tulong niyo sa akin para ako’y mapalaya. Nagpapasalamat din ako sa lahat ng tulong niyo para makapagsimula ng bagong buhay sa Pilipinas kasama ang aking pamilya,” said Dalquez, who plans to use the money to open a small business in General Santos City.
Dalquez was repatriated on Nov. 1 immediately after she was released from prison.
A native of General Santos City, Jennifer was sentenced to death in 2015 after she was found guilty of killing her employer.
She was later acquitted after the Philippine Embassy appealed her case.
