No Filipino harmed in Pennsylvania synagogue shooting

No Filipino casualties were reported in the shooting incident that killed 11 individuals at a synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) expressed its sympathies to the families of the 11 killed in the shooting incident.

It also hoped for the speedy recovery of the six other individuals reported injured after a 46-year-old gunman opened fire inside the Tree of Life Congregation Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

There were no members of the Filipino community among the casualties in the incident, according to the report of Consul General Claro S. Cristobal of the Philippine Consulate General in New York.

Cristobal said there are 4,000 members of the Filipino Community in Pittsburgh and the rest of Western Pennsylvania.
