1 killed, 130 arrested in Laguna one-day anti-crime drive

OPERATIVES of the Laguna Police Provincial Office arrested 130 suspects in a one-day simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operations (SACLEO) in the whole province.

The anti-crime sweep was conducted from 12 a.m. on Wednesday until Thursday.

An armed drug suspect in Binan, Laguna was killed when he tried to shoot it out with the arresting officers.

The SACLEO included the conduct of buy-bust operations, implementation of search warrants against illegal drugs and loose firearms, service of warrants of arrest, and operations on loose firearms.

In its 74 operations against illegal drugs, the Laguna police arrested 71 suspects in buy-bust operations, three in the implementation of search warrants, and nine in other police operations.

On operations on loose firearms, police were able to arrest one suspect during the implementation of search warrants and one suspect during police patrol/response.

The Laguna PNP also arrested 21 suspects in its nine operations against illegal gambling and 19 most wanted and wanted persons during the service of arrest warrants within and outside the province.

Seized during the operations were 119 sachets of suspected shabu worth P182,900.
