LUCENA CITY— One of five patients under investigation (PUI) for the dreaded nobel coronavirus in Quezon province turned negative on Saturday, local health authorities said yesterday.
In her latest statement, Povincial Health Officer Dr. Grace Santiago said the patient has been discharged from undisclosed medical facility and sent home after the results of the specimen examination from the national reference laboratory was found negative of nCoV.
However, Santiago said the number of persons under monitoring (PUM) has increased from four to eleven.
PUM is a person who has history of travel in the said countries for the past 14 days without any respiratory symptoms and were advised of home quarantine.
Despite the remaining 4 PUIs, the health official said the province remains negative for nCoV cases.
She said the four are being taken care of by the Department of Health and Integrated Provincial Health Office while awaiting for the results of their specimen examination.
The health official, again, reminds the public to practice precautions on personal hygiene.
