A 48-HOUR anti-crime operation launched by the Cebu Police Provincial Office from Wednesday to Thursday this week led in the killing of four armed suspects, the arrest of 102 others and the confiscation of nearly P17 million worth of shabu, Police Regional Office 7 director, Chief Superintendent Debold M. Sinas reported yesterday.
Sinas said the 2-day operation saw the local police headed by Senior Supt. Manuel Abrugena conducting 69 buy-bust operations which led in the arrest of 82 suspects and serving 17 search warrants for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013.
The official said that recovered during operations were 671 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing around 2.5 kilos of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ worth P16.990 million, 73 assorted firearms and dozens of tools and other equipment being used to manufacture guns in clandestine shops.
Appropriate criminal charges have been filed against the arrested suspects, said Sinas.
