11 drug dealers killed, 212 jailed in Bulacan

THE Bulacan Police Provincial Office yesterday announced the killing of 11 armed drug dealers during gunbattles with undercover officers and the arrest of 212 other law offenders, half of them known drug personalities too following a province-wide week-long anti-crime operations.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Rhodel O. Sermonia, new Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe said that the operations were conducted from Monday to Sunday last week.

“Those string of operations were in adherence to the marching orders of General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, the chief of the Philippine National Police to intensify and re-invigorate our anti-criminality and anti-insurgency drive,” Cajipe said.

The official said that during the period, they conducted a total of 71 anti-illegal drug operations which led in the killing of 11 armed suspects and the arrest of 111 others.

Another 101 wanted persons, 37 of them included in the list of most wanted men in Bulacan were also arrested while anti-illegal gambling operations led in the arrest of 35 suspects involved in different illegal number games in the province.

Cajipe identified the 11 slain suspects as Jay-Ar Borromeo, one alias’ Liit,’ an alias ‘Jr.,’ Jhodie Maglalang, one alias ‘Roy, one Jr. Villanueva, Alfonza Javier, Arnoli Omoso, Jerry Janoras, Win Love Fotaga and Jose Ragsag alias ‘Jhong.’

The 11 were shot dead by members of the Drug Enforcement Units of the San Jose del Monte City Police Station and the Norzagaray, San Ildefonso, San Rafael, Santa Maria and Plaridel Municipal Police Stations, he said.

Recovered from the possession of the slain suspects were seven loaded caliber .38 revolvers without serial numbers, three improvised 12-gauge shotguns, one pen gun and dozens of various live ammunition and spent cartridges.

Cajipe said that also recovered from the 111 drug offenders who were arrested in a province-wide series of anti-narcotics operations were 336 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu, 20 plastic packets with dried marijuana leaves, assorted drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money they received from undercover officers.

The official said that two suspects identified as Israel Jake Buhain and Orlando Malabon were also arrested during a raid in Plaridel town which led in the confiscation of 35 plastic sachets of shabu, three cal. .45 pistols, one cal. .22 revolver, one hand grenade, nine .45 magazines, 45 pieces of cal. .45 ammunition and six cal. .22 bullets.

A 3rd suspect identified as Gilbert Catiis was not around during the raid and is still being hunted as of press time, Cajipe said.

The Bulacan police director said that also arrested were Joselito Santos, one of the five most wanted persons in Central Luzon, Eligio Huliganga, the 4th most wanted man in Bulacan and Jolas Nueza and Melchor Austria, both top drug targets in the province.

Santos, a man wanted for qualified rape was arrested in Muntinlupa City by Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Branch operatives. Huliganga, wanted for 11 counts of rape; Nueva, wanted for murder; and Austria, wanted for frustrated murder were arrested in separate manhunt operations, said Cajipe.
