11 held for gambling, gunrunning

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Nine persons were arrested by operatives under the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Region 3 (CIDG-3) for illegal gambling in the province of Bataan and Nueva Ecija the other day.

Col. Amante B. Daro, regional officer of CIDG-3, said the suspects were caught in the act of playing a card game called “bet game” and “pusoy.”

Arrested in Barangay Cupang Proper in Balanga City, Bataan were Myrna Del Mundo, 43, Arjay Alcan, 31, Shayne Dizon, 31, Alvin Danque, 34, and Marvin Vicente, 24.

A pack of playing cards were seized from the suspects.

In Barangay Poblacion East, Gen Tinio, Nueva Ecija, Andresito Maducdoc, 47, Mario Pajarillaga, 52, Conrado Bernabe, 61, and Eljane Reyes y Abesamis, 30.

All suspects are facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree  1602 as amended by Republic Act 9287.

Meanwhile, in Barangay Loma De Gato in Marilao, Bulacan, operatives arrested Herbert Loteriña, 32, native of Pilar, Sorsogon, and Ganygolen Pujida, 42, native of Cagayan De Oro City, for selling loose firearms to poseur-buyer.

Confiscated from the suspects were one cal. .38 revolver Smith & Wesson with serial number 7286, one cal. .38 revolver revolver without serial number, and four pieces live ammunition for the said caliber.

The two are facing charges for violation of RA 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
