116 AMBALA remants surrender to police

TARLAC CITY- A total of 116 members of the Alyansa ng Manggagawang Bukid sa Hacienda Luisita (AMBALA) officially surrendered Friday to the fold of the government.

Police Regional Director PBGen. Rhodel Sermonia said the returnees are remnants of farmer sector mass support group of the Larangang Gerilya sa Patag 2 and Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army in Hacienda Luisita.

Sermonia distributed relief packs during the signing of oath of allegiance of the AMBALA members.

"This is in line with the efforts of our Regional Task Force to end local communist armed conflict and we have incorporated our ongoing program at Police Regional Office 3 which is the Rektang Bayanihan Bagong Pagkakaisa for all who will return to the fold of the law so that we could show that indeed the government cares for them and would give them a better life thru livelihood assistance so they could start anew," the official added.
