A TOTAL of 131 members of Communist Terrorist Group (CTGs) who have surrendered earlier to authorities were welcomed back to the folds of government as they were presented to Chief, Philippine National Police Director Police Gen. Archie Francisco F Gamboa on Thursday.
The 131 individuals who also surrendered their firearms include 3 Ganap na Kasapi and 34 Militiang Bayan from Red Areas mostly Dumagat/Remontado Indigenous People operating in the provinces of Rizal and Quezon while the other 24 Ganap na Kasapi and 70 Kandidatong Kasapi were from White Areas mostly from the Labor Sector also operating in the province of Laguna, and were identified as former members of “Pagkakaisa ng Mang-gagawa sa Timog Katagalugan -Kilusang Mayo Uno (PAMANTIK-KMU).
PRO4A together with their AFP counterparts have been gaining from the series of both law enforcement and combat operations by advocating peaceful means to end the terroristic acts of the CNTs.
During the activity, the Chief PNP commended the efforts of both the Police Regional Office CALABARZON under the leadership of PBGen. Vicente D Danao, Jr., and the AFP Southern Luzon Command under the Joint Force Commander, LTGen. Antonio G Parlade, Jr along with the Local Government Units, and other stakeholders in efforts to address threats on insurgency and terrorism in the region.
After the program, the 131 surrendered CTGs were given 25 kgs of rice, grocery packs, and financial assistance from Police Regional Office CALABARZON.
