SAN JOSE CITY — Despite the repeated warnings not to engage in illegal gambling, at least 14 persons including a female government employee, were nabbed in separate stings in this city and in Palayan City on Monday afternoon City police head Lt. Col. Heryl Bruno identified those four nabbed as local government unit worker Naura Baltazar, 55, widow; Marcosa Tubog,39; Jela Marie Tubog, 20; and Jenna Ruba, all of Bgy. Rafael Rueda Sr., this city.
The four suspects were caught playing Pusoy Dos in the house of Marcosa Tubog at 3:20 p.m.
Bruno said his men conducted the raid after getting a tip from a concerned citizen about an on- going illegal gambling operation in the area.
Seized were a set of playing cards, three chairs, a table and P171 in bet money.
In Palayan City, police led by Lt. Col. Renato Morales arrested 10 persons, mostly laborers and vendors, including a 19-year-old student while in the act of playing the illegal card game "pusoy" in Bgy. Manacnac on Monday at 4:15 p.m.
Those nabbed were identified as Angelo Diongco, 39; Rogelio Gonzales, 66; Marilou Guerra, 56; Garry Gatbunton, 19, Daniel Onia, 27; Roldan Viado, 34; Gregorio Guerra, 51; Tessa Sanchez, 34; Theresa Onia, 52, and Maritess Guerra, 59, all of Bgy. Manacnac.
Seized from them were three sets of playing cards and P1,395 cash in various denomination.
