LUCENA CITY--- Five patients under investigation (PUIs) have been found positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) bringing to eighteen (18) the total number of infected persons in Quezon province, according to provincial officials.
Janet Geneblazo who heads the Quezon Public Information Office (QPIO) said one of the two patients, a resident of Infanta town had died on April 2 but the results of the laboratory test came only last night.
In a phone interview, Geneblazo said the two other patients found positive of COVID-19 are residents of Tiaong town, while the remaining two are from Unisan and this city.
In its 3:00 p.m. bulletin, QPIO announced that there are 366 PUIs in the province including 6 death.
Geneblazo clarified that from 7, the list of PUIs- death had decreased to 6 as the name of the patient from Infanta was automatically deleted by Integrated Provincial Health Office, under Dr. Grace Santiago, and had it added to the list of confirmed cases.
On Monday, QPIO disclosed that a patient from Unisan town who was earlier confirmed to have infected by the virus and another patient under investigation (PUI) in Calauag town have both died.
It was also announced on that day that a female doctor from this city working at Quezon Medical Center and a female nurse from Tayabas working in a private hospital, here, have been tested carriers of the respiratoty desease.
Two more doctors, a male and a female both from this city, have also been found positive of the dreaded virus.
