A BULACAN-wide anti-criminality operation on Friday led in the killing of two armed drug traffickers following a shootout with undercover officers in San Jose del Monte City and the arrest of 26 others, a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Rhodel O. Sermonia said yesterday.
Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe identified the slain suspects as Reymar Mallari and one alias ‘Jojo,’ both said to be listed in the unified drug watch list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Philippine National Police.
Cajipe said that the two were killed in a firefight with anti-narcotics operatives of the San Jose del Monte City Police Station headed by Lieutenant Colonel Gil Domingo at Towerville, Barangay Sto. Cristo around 8:20 p.m. Friday.
“The suspects opened fire when they sensed they were dealing with an undercover cop and were killed when my men retaliated,” said the Bulacan police director.
Recovered from the possession of the slain suspects were two improvised shotgun with 12 spent casings, 20 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, five plastic sachets with shabu residue and the marked money paid to the duo by the poseur.
Cajipe said that five other suspects, three of them identified as Ronel Esteba, Maricol Soriano and Editha Aquines and two teenagers whose names were withheld were also arrested during the same operation after they yielded shabu.
Ten other suspected drug personalities in Meycauayan City and San Rafael and Plaridel municipalities were also arrested in a string of buy-bust operations on the same day.
Recovered from the suspects were 35 plastic sachets with shabu, a cla. .38 revolver with four live ammunition and several drug .paraphernalia.
Cajipe said that the other suspects were arrested on the strength of warrants of arrest for robbery and attempted homicide.
