2 crime group members killed in Cavite shootout

CAMP Brig. Gen. Pantaleon Garcia, Imus City, Cavite -- Two men suspected to be members of a crime group operating in the province were killed by Cavite policemen in a gunbattle early yesterday morning .

Around 11 p.m., the Dasmariñas City police officers were manning a Comelec-PNP checkpoint on Snake Road, Barangay Salawag, in Dasmariñas when the two suspects on a motorcycle came and refused to stop.

The suspects were chased by the policemen but they fired shots at them, prompting the cops to retaliate killing  them.

Recovered from the slain suspects were two .38 revolvers and the motorcycle.

Meanwhile, three men were arrested in an anti-drug operation around 3:30 a.m. in General Trias City, Cavite.

The suspects were identified as Bryan Talamayan, Reyland Jay Villanueva, and Albery Legaspi, all of Bgy. San Francisco.

Talamayan, who traded shots with the cops, was hit in the body, while his two cohorts were arrested.

Seized from them were a .38 pistol, seven plastic sachets of shabu and a P500 bill.
