CAMP Brig. Gen. Vi-cente Lim, Bgy. Canlubang, Calamba City, Laguna -- Two suspected drug pushers were killed last Tuesday by policemen during buy-bust operations in Calamba City, Laguna and General Trias City.
Killed were Aries dela Cruz of Bgy. Looc, Calamba and Alyazzariff Sahibuddin, alias ‘Al Payat’, of Bgy. San Francisco, General Trias.
Police said Aries dela Cruz settled for a sachet of shabu to be bought by a police poseur-buyer at 9 p.m. in said place. The suspect opted to shoot it out with the cops surrounding him. A cal. .38 revolver and the shabu were confiscated later.
Meanwhile, Alyazzariff sold a sachet of shabu in Bgy. Pabahay 2000, Bgy. San Francisco at 12:30 p.m. The suspect who was also armed with a cal. .38 revolver fired several times at the policemen before he was gunned down.
GenTrias City police chief Supt. Paul Bometivo said DEU operatives acting as poseur-buyers were able to buy one transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu in exchange for five marked P500 bills.
After the transaction was made, the poseur-buyers introduced themselves as police officers, prompting the suspect to pull out a cal. .38 and fired at the latter who fired back, hitting the suspect in the body. He was rushed to Gentri Hospital and Medical Center in Bgy. Manggahan but died while undergoing treatment. Dr. Richelles Ermeno, the attending physician, declared the suspect dead at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
A SOCO team recovered at the encounter scene a cal. .38 revolver without serial number containing a fired cartridge and four misfired ammunition, a brown coin purse with five pieces of marked P500 bills and 15 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu.
The pieces of evidence were placed under the custody of Cavite PNP Crime Laboratory for appropriate forensic examination.
Due to Islamic burial rites, the body of Al Payat was not subjected for autopsy and was brought to Bgy. Maharlika in Taguig City.
Charges of violation of Sections 5 and 11, Art. 2 of RA 9165 and direct assault with attempted homicide will be filed against the suspect before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Imus City.
