SAN JOSE CITY – Intensified anti-drug stings conducted by the police led to the killing of a suspected armed drug trafficker and the arrest of two others here on Tuesday, police said yesterday.
Killed was an alleged drug dealer whom police identified as one alias Buboy, a resident of Quezon City, while his unidentified accomplice eluded arrest when he fled towards the south direction on board a black Yamaha Mio motorcycle.
City police head Lt. Col. Heryl Bruno said Buboy and his cohort sold marijuana contained in a medium-sized zip-locked plastic sachet worth P500 in Rufina Homes 2, Zone 4, Bgy. Malasin to a police poseur-buyer at 8:50 p.m.
After consummating the drug deal, however, Buboy turned suspicious then drew his gun and fired at the operating undercover lawmen.
This triggered a shootout resulting in the suspect’s death.
In the other drug-bust, nabbed were Leomar Tandaan, 21, alias Binoy, jobless and Nelson Acain, 36, alias Jasper, both of Bgy. Tayabo.
Bruno said the duo were busted in Bgy. Rafael Rueda Sr., at 3:15 p.m.
Recovered from them were four plastic sachets containing dried marijuana and the P500 buy-bust marked money.
Bruno said the arrested duo was allegedly included both in the drug watch list as user and buyer.
