2 Fajardo Drug Group members killed in Laguna encounter

TWO members of Fajardo Drug and Robbery Group were killed and another one was arrested in an armed confrontation with Provincial Intelligence Branch Laguna operatives in Bgy Majada Out, Calamba City, Laguna on Friday afternoon.

In a report by Police Provincial Director PCol. Serafin Petalio II to Calabarzon Regional Director PBGen Vicente Danao Jr., he identified the slain suspects  as Marlon Fajardo, 35, and Roberto Luis Amador, 28, both residents of Bgy Majada Out, Calamba,

One Maximo de Luna Jr.,46, member of Lupon  ng Barangay, of B-22 L-175 Sitio Majada-In Housing Bgy Canlubang was arrested.

The Intel Drug Unit under PMajor Ryan Jay Orapa and Calamba Police conducted anti-illegal drug operation at 3:20 p.m. when the encounter transpired.

One of the operatives acting as poseur buyer managed to buy one heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu from the suspect who was standing beside a Honda Civic sedan with his two cohorts on board.

One of the suspects in the car sensed that the third suspect dealt with a police operative and without hesitation drew his firearm and fired at the cop, prompting back-up cops and other lawmen to retaliate and trigger a shootout.

Two of the slain suspects in the car sustained several gunshot wounds in different parts of the bodies that led to their instant death.

The police recovered from the suspects one cal. 9mm Intratec without a serial number, one Cal. 38 revolver loaded with live ammunition, fired cartridge cases, one large health-sealed and three small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with an approximate weight of 28 grams and an estimated value of P700,000, 2 heat-sealed sachet containing suspected shabu during a body search, P1,000 buy-bust money, one cellular phone and several drug paraphernalia.

The operation was launched based on information gathered through a series of validations and the aid of concerned citizens and barangay officials.
