Two persons were arrested by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives during separate operations against illegal recruitment and robbery extortion in Mabalacat City and Angeles City the other day.

Police Col. Christopher Abrahano, DICG-Region 3 officer, said one Maylene San Pedro Ildefonso, 26, was arrested in an entrapment operation at a fast food restaurant in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City.

The suspect was arrested after receiving a genuine P1,000 bill atop a bundle of “boodle money” from her supposed victim, a 25-year-old female.

Ildefonso is facing charges for violation of the Labor Code on illegal recruitment and Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code for estafa.

Inside a mall in Barangay Balibago, Angeles City, CIDG operatives arrested one Aaron Macapagal, 30, in an entrapment operation for alleged robbery extortion through estafa and falsification of public documents.

The marked bundle of true peso bills and boodle money worth P50,000 were confiscated from the suspect, who is facing charges for violation of Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code.
