CABANATUAN CITY -- Two separate murder incidents were perpetrated by unidentified gunmen in the towns of Talavera and Peñaranda on Sunday, police said yesterday.
In Talavera, police identified the slain victim as Julius Caesar Santos, 37, buko vendor, of Purok Quirino, Bgy. Esguerra.
Town police head Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito said the victim was at the garage of his house together with his live-in partner and a friend when the suspect came at 6:30 p.m. and talked with the victim.
At this juncture, the black jacket-wearing suspect suddenly pulled out a gun from his back and shot the victim several times at pointblank range, before escaping onboard a black Suzuki Smash motorcycle towards south direction.
Initially recovered at the crime scene were seven empty slugs for cal.9mm pistol.
In Peñaranda, killed was tricycle driver Ramon Bautista Jr., 40, widower, of Bgy. San Josef.
Police said two unidentified motorcycle-riding men perpetrated the killing while the victim was having a drinking session with his friends beside a sari-sari store in Bgy. Poblacion at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Police are still facing a blankwall in their investigation of the twin murder incidents.
