2 mechanics nabbed for carnap in Laguna

Two motor mechanics involved in carnapping and motorcycle choper was arrested in San Pablo City, Laguna.

Laguna Provincial Director PCol. Serafin Petalio II identified the suspects as Hardy Magbanua Barcelon, 25 , a motor mechanic, and a resident of Alicante St. Teomora, Village Phase 3, Bgy. San Gabriel, San Pablo City  and Ismael Laja aka Jun Bernal, of Villa Adelina Bgy San Agustin, Alaminos, Laguna.

The operatives  conducted the operations on reported that they have three consecutive cases of carnapping reported by one victim Jeffrey C Dela Cruz, 34, lending collector whose Honda motorcycle with plate no. 30151EC registered to his company was discovered missing and Marvin Virgo Velasco, 33 , delivery boy whose Yamaha motorcycle with MV file no. 0401-00000986411 was also discovered missing while Rendell Mark Deomano who  owned matte gray-colored Yamaha Mio Sporty motorcycle also missing.

During the conducted of separate follow-up investigation, it was revealed in CCTV footages that in the three cases of carnapping, two  male individuals carted away the motorcycles of the victims on board a yellow-colored Yamaha Mio MC without plate number.

Upon receipt of information from a concerned citizen regarding the possible location of the motorcycles, police will immediately  conducted a follow-up operation that led to the arrest of suspect Hardy M Barcelon and the recovery of the stolen motorcycles of victims Dela Cruz and Velasco. Barcelon is a motor mechanic and is allegedly the motorcycle ‘chopper’ and whose house serves as a ‘chop shop’ of their carnapping group.

Alaminos police and , San Pablo police further conducted a follow-up operation at Villa Adelina in Barangay San Agustin, Alaminos that resulted in the successful recovery of the stolen motorcycle of the victim Deomano and the identification of the suspect Ismael Laja aka Jun Bernal who is allegedly the head of the carnapping group.

Another one  unit of Yamaha Mio without plate number suspected to be a ‘carnapped motorcycle’ was recovered from the house of the suspect.

Charges of  carnapping are now being prepared to be filed against the suspect at the city proosecutors office.
