LUCENA City -- Joint police teams arrested two female Muslim traders and their driver in a drug-bust in Bgy. 4 here on Saturday.
Quezon police director Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman identified the suspects as Zulaica Laguindab, 45, native of Muslim Village, Lanao del Sur and resident of Datu Ysmael, Dasmariñas City, Cavite; Norhata Piano, 40, native of Wao Lanao del Sur and resident of 982 Arlegui St., Quiapo, Manila; and driver Ricson Piano, 36, native of Laguna and a resident of Quiapo, Manila.
De Guzman said the drug sting was carried out around 7:20 p.m. by members of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit under Supt. Norman Rañon, City Drug Enforcement Unit of Lucena City Police station under Supt. Reydante Ariza and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 4-A.
Laguindab, who was temporarily residing in Bgy. 4 along with the two suspects, was in the local police drug list.
The suspects were arrested on M. L. Tagarao St. and confiscated from them were two large plastic sachets containing some 115.6 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P213,000.
De Guzman said the fake 75 pieces of P1,000 bills used by the operatives as marked money were also recovered from the suspects.
The suspects are now detained at the City Lock- Up Jail and will be charged with violations of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
