TWO wanted New People’s Army personalities have surrendered to the government following negotiations with Philippine National Police Intelligence Group officers in Northern Mindanao, PNP-IG director, Brigadier General Edgar S. Monsalve said yesterday.
The official identified the two as Luciano Camanian, an NPA vice platoon leader and warfare instructor, and Federico Solon, described as a team leader of the 1st Platoon Gerilya Yunit sa Probinsiya in Misamis Occidental.
Monsalve said the two turned themselves over to members of the Regional Intelligence Unit 10 in Barangay Nacional in Jimenez, Misamis Occidental after sending words they area already tired of living in the mountains and would want to return to the mainstream of society.
Monsalve said Camanian was also designated by the rebel movement as a ‘Poli-Kalihim’ or a vice-mayor in the municipality in their area where he was designated as the one in-charge of supervising all their team leaders.
On the other hand, Solon was identified as an NPA intelligence officer since 2012 and operating in the 1st district of Misamis Occidental down to the areas of Tambulig and Molave municipalities in Zamboanga del Sur.
The two are now undergoing government processing which will enable them to avail of the Duterte administration’s E-CLIP program which provides for adequate livelihood for rebel surrenderers, said Monsalve.
