August 11, 2020

SAN JOSE City -- Two male seafarers were recorded as the city’s new Covid-19 carriers, it was learned yesterday.

This brought to nine the total number of virus infections in this city.

The two new cases were tagged as Patients #8 and #9 by the local inter-agency task force headed by Mayor Mario “Kokoy” Salvador.

Patient #8 is 24 years of age from Bgy. Dizol while the other patient is aged 27, of Encarnacion Subd. Bgy. Rafael Rueda Sr.

Mayor Salvador has ordered the local contact-tracing team to intensify their efforts in tracking down those who were in close contact earlier with the patients.

The Nueva Ecija Inter-Agency Task Force reported that 11 new cases were added to the province’s growing Covid-19 list, which now stands at 282 confirmed cases.

Of the 11, seven came from Cabanatuan City, and one case each from this city, and the towns of San Antonio and Penaranda, and Palayan City.

Due to the surge of Covid-19 infections in the province and to prevent unauthorized persons from entering Nueva Ecija, Gov. Aurelio Umali, IATF chair, earlier ordered  a strict monitoring and putting up of border control checkpoints on all entry points of the province along the boundaries of the provinces of Aurora, Nueva Vizcaya, Bulacan and Pangasinan.
