3 Bicol drug dealers arrested

POLICE Regional Office 5 director, Brigadier General Anthony S. Alcañeses yesterday announced the arrest of three drug traffickers who were taking advantage of the anti-COVID-19 quarantine measures to ply their trade.

The official identified the three as Jeffrey Baldano,25, a fish vendor from Legazpi City;  Joniros Alvaro,32, of Sipocot, Camarines Sur; and Mark Paul Garcia,37, of Sipocot, Camarines Norte.

Alcañeses said that Baldano was arrested after he sold shabu to an undercover officer of the Legazpi City Police Station in Purok 1, Barangay Baybay at 3:45 p.m. last Sunday. Officers led by Captain Sammy Realuyo recovered a plastic sachet containing the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ and a marked P1,000 bill paid by a poseur to the suspect.

On the other hand, Alvaro, a resident of Bgy. Cabuyao in Sipocot yielded a sachet with shabu and a marked P500 bill during the entrapment operation conducted by members of the Sipocot Municipal Police Station last Friday.

The suspect who is included in the watch list of the Bicol police used a motorcycle with plate no. 6785 EI during the sting. The motorbike was impounded by the local police.

Garcia, a resident of Purok 3 in Bgy. 1, Mercedes, Camarines Norte was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by members of the Mercedes Municipal Police Station led by Captain Arkhemedes Garcia.
