MURDER charges were filed against three men implicated in the murder of Zamboanga del Norte Regional Trial Court Judge Reymar Lacaya last May.
Prima facie evidence was established against the accused during a preliminary investigation of the case filed by the National Bureau of Investigation and the slain judge’s widow.
Charged with murder before the Liloy Regional Trial court were Juliver Cabating and gunmen “Jerry” and “Ramil.”
Provincial Prosecutor Gabino Saavedra II used as basis for the indictment the evidence gathered by the NBI, including CCTV footages and witnesses’ testimonies.
An investigation showed that Cabating allegedly met the gunmen a few hours before the killing.
The gunmen were seen on CCTV footages fleeing from the crime scene.
Lacaya was boarding his vehicle outside a courthouse on May 9 when shot dead.
