3 dead in Ecija drug stings

CABANATUAN CITY -- Three suspected drug pushers were killed when they turned hostile and engaged undercover operatives in separate armed encounters in Nueva Ecija on Thursday.

In Aliaga, Chief Insp. Jaime Ferrer, town police head, said suspected drug peddler Dexter Pascual, alias Kojak, of Bgy. Camp Tinio was neutralized after he opted to fight off anti-drug operatives during a drug sting conducted at 12:20 p.m.

Pascual, who was included in the drug watch list of the Cabanatuan police, was armed with a cal.22 revolver when he resisted arrest during the anti-illegal drug operation, said Ferrer.

In Talavera, the slain drug suspect was identified as Akihiko Numakura, 32, alias Hapon, jeepney driver, of Bgy. Pinagpanaan.

Supt. Alexie A. Desamito, town police chief, said the suspect was killed when he initiated a firefight against the responding operatives after consummating a drug deal in Bgy. Sampaloc at 9:20 p.m.

In San Jose city, Supt. Heryl L. Bruno, city police head, identified the drug suspect as Allan Cruz, of Bgy. Mayapyap, Cabanatuan City.

He was neutralized in Bgy. Sto. Tomas during a buy-bust that turned into a bloody confrontation with anti-drug operatives when he drew a cal. 38 revolver after sensing that his drug buyer was a real cop.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old woman, identified as Jeanalyn Leabres, of Bgy. Esguerra District was nabbed during a separate buy-bust operation in Bgy. San Miguel na Munti, Talavera on Thursday.

Desamito said her men seized four plastic sachets containing shabu and the P1000 in marked money from the suspect.
