3 drug traffickers killed in gunbattle with Bulacan cops

THREE armed drug trafficking suspects were killed in a gunbattle with undercover officers of the San Jose del Monte City Police Drug Enforcement Unit shortly before midnight Sunday, a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Rhodel O. Sermonia said yesterday.

Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Emma M. Libunao identified the slain suspects as Jay-ar Borromeo,  a man included in the watch list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Philippine National Police; one alias ‘Liit’ and one alias ‘Jr.’

According to the official, the three had just conspired to sell shabu to an undercover officer in Barangay San Manuel, San Jose del Monte City around 11 p.m. Sunday when they got suspicious they were dealing with a policeman.

The three reportedly grabbed their hidden weapons and fired at the officer and his back-up prompting the lawmen to retaliate killing all three on the spot.

Recovered from the possession of the slain suspects were one caliber .38 Smith & Wesson revolver with three spent cartridges and one live ammunition, two improvised 12-gauge shotguns with several ammunition,  a marked P500 bill, 30 small heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and a tricycle they used to transport the drugs.
