CABANATUAN CITY -- Three suspected drug personalities were neutralized by authorities in another wave of stepped-up anti-narcotics operations conducted in separate instances in Nueva Ecija on Wednesday.
In Jaen town, anti-drug operatives under the supervision of Chief Insp. Erwin Ferry, town police head neutralized Mario Lictawa, of Sto. Rosa, Nueva Ecija when the latter engaged authorities in a firefight after making a drug deal in Bgy. Imbunia at 10 p.m.
In Bgy. San Fernando Sur, Cabiao, members of the police drug enforcement team traded bullets with drug suspect Joel Hipolito, 44, alias Jigs, of Purok 4, of said barangay when he resisted arrest and fired shots during a buy-bust conducted at 7:30 p.m.
In San Isidro, town police head Chief Insp. Ranny Casilla identified the slain drug suspect as Joel Agustin, 39, of Cabanatuan City.
He was shot dead when he initiated a firefight with undercover operatives who conducted the buy-bust operation against him on Talens St. Bgy. Poblacion at 4:15 a.m.
