POLICE on Tuesday arrested three under the influence of liquor at a checkpoint in San Juan, Batangas.
Rosario Municipal Police Station chief Major Jaime S. Pederio identified the suspects as Victor Gutierrez, Fidel Dumael Jr., and Jay Regota.
Pederio said his men were manning Quarantine Control Point for COVID-19 along National hi-way of Bgy. Tipaz, in San Juan town at 8:45 p.m. when Victor, who was under the influence of liquor approached. The police officers asked for his quarantine pass but he shouted at the authorities.
He was arrested.
Dumael and Regota, both also under the influence of liquor,arrived and tried to negotiate with the cops but when they were about to be arrested, the suspects resisted.
When searched, the police recovered from Dumael’s possession one Armscor cal .45, three magazines, a firearm registration (LTOPF) and a permit to carry document.
The three suspects will be charged for Direct Assault, Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority in relation to Republic Act 11332, Pederio said.
