THREE known ‘high-value drug targets’ in Mindanao, one of them a retired Army soldier and the two others both government employees were arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in separate buy-bust operations in the region, PDEA chair, Director General Aaron N. Aquino announced yesterday.
The official identified the retired Army trooper as 51-year old Roger Caputolan who was arrested by combined operatives of the PDEA Regional Office 12 and the local police shortly after he sold drugs to an undercover officer in Purok 4, Barangay New Panay in Aleosan, Cotabato.
Aquino said that the suspect yielded nearly P1,000 worth of shabu, the marked money he received from the poseur and a caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing two live ammunition.
On the other hand, the two other suspects identified as Joemel Cabrera and Renante Anas, both dump truck driver/heavy equipment operator of the South Cotabato Provincial Engineering Office were arrested in a sting near their office in Zone 4, Koronadal City.
Recovered from the suspects were an estimated P500 worth of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ and the buy-bust money.
All three suspects are now facing charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Caputolan was slapped with another case for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013, Aquino added.
